How I Turn Casual Into Chic

Forward Forty Videos | Judette Coward-Puglisi

I once read that once you cross forty you shouldn’t wear shorts. I disagree. I believe a crisp tailored shorts is a good starting point for a casual look and that it can be dressed up to look chic. I feel the same way about a mini skirt (ok, ok so the legs are important) and even a long maxi dress.

The three outfits I will show you here today are all really quite simple if taken apart, but once paired with heels and bold accessories they become anything but.

I believe that your personal style is unique and ought to reflect years of coming to terms with what shapes and colours suit you, what undergarments give your body structure and what makes you feel beautiful and joyful inside.

Be inspired.

  1. I love this segment, I especially love the orange dress, I could see myself rocking that :). I would sass up a casual outfit by accessorizing it, jewelry, bag and shoe. Depending on the setting I may add a cardigan, scarf or even a jacket. I love statement pieces that transform a simple outfit. 🙂
